Murray Bridge is a South Australian town with a population of close to 20,000. It is approximately 78 kilometres from Adelaide. One of the highlights of the town is the Murray Bridge Races. The Murray Bridge Racecourse
Formed in 1899, the Murray Bridge Racing Club conducted its very first race meet in 1914. The Murray Bridge Racecourse has a thoroughbred training complex. Other facilitaties at the track include: grass tracks; sand tracks (fast and slow); jog tracks; a jump school; barrier chute training; and, the racecourse is close enough to the river to swim the horses.
The track also has an esteemed training facility. It has been growing in strength since an upgrade in 1996. It is also set to become South Australia’s main training facility (apart from Morphettville). It will house 600 horses.
The track has a circumference of 1850 metres and a straight of 420 metres. There are four chutes in the course.
